The Great New York State Fair is over so now is the unofficial start of fall (even though it’s felt like fall for about 3 weeks now. So with the cooler weather comes with warmer fashion and today I wanted to share some of the pieces that are probably already in your closet that are making their comeback and you should keep around for at least another season (but I’m thinking longer).
Leather everything: I feel like one of my biggest outerwear staple is a cropped leather jacket. I think a quality bomber style or one with all kind of details makes for such a sexy and edgy addition to any outfit. Spice up a cute little dress or give your simple outfit some rocker vibes. I love the leather trend right now whether it’s with accents on a top or pair of pants to a full on leather skirt our trouser. You just feel so bad ass in this trend and I am so happy it’s going nowhere.
Athleisure: a simple one but I love seeing how this trend seems to evolve. Everyone loves a good pair of leggings and I for one couldn’t live without my Lululemon leggings but I love how it went from super casual I just rolled out of bed, went to the gym and now I’m here to a little more put together. I am loving a good pair of all white Addidas with a pair of skinny jeans and a casual top or cropped sweat-shirt. I feel like this looks so sporty but put together.
Midi skirts/dresses – When fall comes I love long layers there’s something so sweet about a long flowing skirt and I’m so happy the midi trend is continuing into fall. Paired with a long sleeve body suit or cropped fitted sweater I think this skirt length is perfect for an office setting. What I’m also loving is seeing a midi skirt paired with a basic t-shirt and sneakers. Gives you such a great casual dressy contrast I think looks so cool.
Trench coat – I said the leather jacket was my staple for outerwear the trench, but the trench has to be the queen of outerwear. As I’ve mentioned before, this style coat will NEVER go out of style, such a classic and sophisticated coat and you can really wear it with everything. This season I see a lot of camel and tans being very in so the classic tan trench will be a must for anyone’s closet. wrap a light scarf tucked in for those chilly days or leave it unbuttoned for a great casual look.
Over the Knee Boots – No surprise these are back on the blog. If you got rid of your pair this summer because you thought they were a faded trend I’m here to tell you you made a big mistake. As the weather cools you will be loving these again, paired with opaque tights and a mini skirt of over a pair of skinny jeans with a chunky sweater, I can’t wait to live in these boots again.
The 70s – Over the last few years, I have been obsessed with very bohemian styled outfits, with floaty fabrics and maxi skirts that has been my go to pretty much all summer so when I realized that 70s style was making its comeback in the fall I was so excited. Bell Bottoms are going to be a continued staple along with high colors and bold florals. Ponchos and a more western 70s vibe are also very big this season.
What trend are you excited to rock this fall?
