Who says your Valentine has to be a romantic interest? For so many years even if I was seeing someone I would spend Valentine’s Day with my girlfriends. In college, my best friends and I would get all dolled up and go to dinner together. It became a tradition to spend the holiday with my girls and put less pressure on a relationship and it’s also so much fun to treat yourself and spend time with your best friends.
This year my amazing friend Lindsey won a staycation in River North at an incredible Short Stay rental and we got to live out our slumber party goals with lots of snacks, gossiping, Bumbling and a night on the town.

If you’re more of a quiet night in girl gang renting an Airbnb somewhere in the city and stocking up on all your favorite snacks and doing a movie night is a great way to relive your childhood. As adults, I think we should take back the slumber party. We had so much fun eating chips, candy and finishing way too much Rose.

Instead of staying in we decided to take advantage of our incredible location. If you aren’t from Chicago, River North has an amazing selection of nightlife activities and take our girls’ night out on the town. We all dressed in all black and hit up some of Chicago’s favorite clubs, we started our night at TAO for a few drinks and then finished the night at Bodega. If you and your ladies are looking for some fun Three Dots and a Dash is a cool Tiki Bar, or maybe hit Disco for a little bit of dancing.

Finally, whatever you and your ladies decide the best way to wrap up a ladies’ weekend is brunch of course! Chicago not only has some incredible restaurants, but there are some very well thought out brunch menus you have to check out. Hampton Social is an iconic and Instagram worthy brunch spot but one of my favorite spots is Beatrix River North for delicious fresh made juice.
I love any time I can spend with my best friends and Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to plan a get together. Are you and your gal pals doing anything for Valentine’s Day? What are your plans!?
