January/ February Favorites

So I had every intention of putting this post up for January.  Most of it was written, photos were taken… and then the month got away from me… So instead I have decided to combine these last two months in two one post ( I promise March will have it’s own favorites).

Beauty:

So January and February have been huge months for beauty.  With this blog really starting to get somewhere I have decided to really try new products to share with you all. I have found my purse rather heavy from all the products I have been carrying around.

First I’ll start with make up:

I am totally in love with a couple matte lip colors.  I find in the winter with all the layers and keeping scarves and coats around your face lip colors are almost impossible to keep on your lips and not all over everything else.  So I’ve been embracing the liquid matte lipsticks.  Two particular favorites are the Stila Patina and Anastasia Beverly Hills Pure Hollywood.  As I stated in my Winter Lip colors post these. These beautiful shades dry matte and stays put for hours!

Vaseline Intensive Care lotion the winter months really dry my skin out, especially my hands.  So to prevent that I have been carrying the Vaseline lotion around EVERYWHERE I go.  This lotion smells like cucumbers and leaves my hands silky soft without ever feeling greasy.  I apply it quite frequently during the day at work and it’s great not having to wait for my hands to dry before getting back to work.

For fragrances this month I cannot get away from the Issey Miyake L’eau D’Issey. I have a very hard time remembering to wear scents and this has been in my purse since I got it.  It has such a light floral with notes of lilies and lotus with subtle notes of musk as well scent that smells so sweet on my skin.  Its the perfect scent all year long.

As I mentioned in my post about how I’ve been getting in better shape, aerial has been such a great way for me to work all my muscles every week and can really work up a sweat so to refreshen my face I’ve been using the Simple Clean Miracle water and it is amazing!  Just a little bit of this stuff on a cotton pad and away goes all the sweat and dirt.  My skin feels fresh and really well hydrated.  This stuff has been a lifesaver for my skin.

Fashion:

Fashion has always been a passion of mine.  I love scrolling through fashion blogs trying to get some inspiration for tomorrows outfit.  This time of year has been especially hard though because it’s just so bitter cold.  Wearing anything but a chunky sweater and a pair of fleece lined leggings is a real struggle. Fortunately I’ve had a couple of these fashion favorites to make me look a little more put together at work.

Turtlenecks have been a staple for the last couple months.  I have been living in these sweaters since Christmas.  There is something so classic about a black sweater and a pair of slacks.  I have also fell in love with this amazing grey body from ASOS.  It fits so beautifully and looks great with a pair of jeans, slacks, or a skirt.

This Christmas I finally splurged and bought myself a beautiful Henri Bendel bag.  The Uptown Satchel is such a gorgeous bag.  This classic bag has such a simple shape and is really durable and will always be in style.

Of course with it being snowy I’ve been wearing boots a lot this season.  One pair I seem to be putting on are my H&M boots.  These chunky heeled booties are so comfortable and really go with everything.

As you saw in my Valentine’s Day post I can’t get enough of these sexy Knee High boots.  They really will amp up any look.  I love wearing it with a cute skirt or a pair of jeans to dress them down a little bit.  They are really so versatile, really the best trend this season.

Tech:

This is not something I often splurge on, but this month I decided to purchase a Chromecast and oh my gosh has it changed the game.  It sets up so easily and I can run all my favorite streaming platforms right on my tv and still use my computer to do other things! If you don’t have a smart tv or enjoy watching Netflix or Hulu I really suggest you get a Chromecast.

They are the best investment, so much better than Apple TV! It allows me to watch anything I want so easily, and they are so cheap too! Let me know if you get one and how you like it!
