I love the holiday season, Christmas and New Year’s are great opportunities to get all dressed up and spend quality time with friends and family. I also find this to be a great time of year to jump start your resolutions and step out of your comfort zone. I think these holiday parties are the perfect time to try new trends, these are some of the trends I’m loving for the holidays.
Everyone loves a red lip for the holidays, and don’t get me wrong I like everyone else love to dawn a beautiful rouge this time of year. But this year reach for a bright pink instead. This will stand out in the crowd and really make your lips pop. I have been loving this gorgeous gloss from Arbonne in the shade Cosmos.
This year is all about glitter. I feel like the big trend for New Year’s Eve is going to be sequins. If you’re not feeling quite that daring or going to a more low key event try adding some Glitter to your makeup look instead. I love the Stila Glitter and Glow Eyeshadows. They are easy to apply and stay all day, you really don’t have to worry about fall out with these liquid eyeshadows. I also love throwing on a set of Mr. Kate Freckles for a little festive glow.
Bronze Smokey Eye
I am a sucker for a classic cat eye with any subtle smokey eye look but if you’re looking for something a bit dramatic but feel like a true black smokey eye is too harsh for you try using more gold and copper tones instead. Create a really sharp line at the edge and really create a deep blended look and there’s no need for liner.
I often times forget about colored shadows. I find myself always gravitating toward the neutrals but this holiday season I am loving the idea of playing with deep green colored shadows. They add so much drama with a very festive flare.
Calling all my Frozen lovers, this year for your NYE look channel our favorite Queen and go with a dramatic silver makeup look, use bold shades and a neutral base to create the most epic snow queen look. I love the idea of this makeup look paired with a beautiful silver sequin dress and tights with a slicked back pony.
