Raise your hand if you live on the east coat and wish you could jet set across the country to go to Coachella…
Every year I get so excited for Coachella because that marks the official start of Music Festival season. I love seeing what the regulars wear to Coachella and what the new trends will be for summer. So for this post I have put together my must haves for all your music festivals this year!
Rompers, and maxis, and cut offs oh my!
Let’s talk about outfits. Depending on what type of festival it is some things are more acceptable than others but one trend that I think it’s safe to say is accepted across genres is Boho. It’s hot it’s sunny and any way to say cool and still look fashionable is a must. I love rompers and maxi skirts for festival season so much. They are usually pretty loose fitting with great breathable material. Pairing that with a pair of sneakers, booties, or even a pair of sandals if you aren’t afraid to get a little dirty these looks are so great and easy to wear. I’m also in love with a good crop top and cut off jean shorts, put a wide brim hat and a big pair of sunnies on and you are ready for a comfortable festival experience.

I’m all about that bling
When it comes to Coachella the outfit is only half the look, it is all about what you pair with your clothes that really finish the outfit. As I mentioned hats are the best accessory for a festival look, it keeps the sun off your face and gives you a little bit of shade (double win!). I also love big bangles, long layered necklaces, this spring has brought back the choker trend and I’m loving it to add to any long necklace for a great layered look.

I think the biggest trend for summer festival fashion will again be Flash Tattoos. They made their appearance last summer and I don’t see them giving up this year. They are such a great way to add a little bit of something to any outfit especially if you’re not a jewelry person. I will be adding them to my hands and as arm cuffs this season to really glam up my looks. I also think that bindi’s will continue to add a little bit of unique style to any look. Like the flash tattoos these beautiful decorations will add just a little something to your face and give you that very boho feel.
Booties, booties, booties (and sandals)
Lastly, footwear. No matter the weather I think a good pair of booties can give any look a more edgy feel. The peep toe and laces up booties will for sure be the way to keep your foot wear breathable in the summer weather. If you haven’t ready my girl Sierra’s recommendations on the best bootie looks check it out. But if you aren’t ready to wear a pair of boots all day and want something that will breathe a little better sandals are my next suggestion. Gladiator, strappy, lace up or ankle buckle I am all about a cute pair of sandals (but please leave the flip flops for the communal shower or running to get the mail). These sandals can make any look very simple and laid back yet look so put together. My warning is your feet will be filthy and you might get stepped on if you stand in the crowd. If you are more of an active festival goer maybe try a pair of Chuck Taylor’s, Vans, or cute pair of slip on sneakers. They will give you comfort, and security, pick a cute color or print to add something unique to your look!
