Today’s blog post is a very special one for me. As you know I spent last weekend visiting my incredible friend in New York City. I have never come home from a holiday more inspired and excited to blog. I met so many talented, driven people on my visit that they have given me and my vision for this blog new life. So today not only are you getting a blog post all about the look I’ve been wearing just about every day since September 1st but you’re getting a video where I talk all about the products and how I apply them! I’m so excited to launch my Youtube channel and share even more content with you! In the comments please let me know what you love watching on Youtube and if you like the video! Thank you so much for your constant support.
This season’s colors I think are definitely red and orange. I have seen so many eyeshadow pallets sporting pots in these shades, starting with Urban Decay’s new Heat and many other companies are moving toward a warmer set of shades. I’m also seeing this in fashion too, many are wearing more golden yellows, oranges, and pops of bright red in accessories to make a statement. With all these new pallets on the market, I’ve found myself reaching for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance pallet. It’s an older pallet but I’m really in love with the pigmentation of these shadows and how they blend together.
Next essential for my autumn look is a winged liner. I feel like in the summer I tend to line my eyes a little less and often times if I do it’s with a smudged pencil for a smokier feel. But autumn and winter I love a dramatic cat eye. I was recently sent the Ciate Chisel Liner to try by Influenster and I really like how well this pen makes the perfect cat eye. One downfall is that it smudges terribly. If you rub your eye at all it’s everywhere. My normal go-to liquid liner would have to be the Laroc Front of the Line.
For my foundation base, I am still loving the combination I wrote about in my 6 product look, the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector with the Tarte Rain Forest of the Sea gives the skin such a beautiful fresh dewy look that just makes your skin glow. To add a little warmth of course I always reach for my Becca Sunlit Bronzer in Bronzed Bondi It has such a beautiful glow to it with just a little shimmer. It’s the perfect balance of a neutral bronzer with a hint of orange undertones that are so perfect for that summer tan glow.
Next, I’ve been really obsessed with a very messy bold brow these days and of course, the cult favorite Brow Wiz by Anastasia Beverly Hills is what I always reach for. The size of the product really allows me to create hair-like strokes that look really natural. I also love her variety of colors, she has something for every hair color. Once my brows are drawn in I like to brush them out and then use brow gel to brush them up and make them look even fuller.
Finally, to highlight I love using the Urban Decay Highlight Fluid in Fireball as a base. It’s got a bit of a pink hue to it and is kind of a subtle blush highlight in one. I put that down and then put Becca’s highlight in Opal across the high points on my face. Just look at that glow, I’m seriously obsessed and it lasts all day.
And that’s it for my current makeup favorites, make sure to check out the video and let me know what you think in the comments!
