My Favorite Beauty Hacks

I am a Pinterest addict, if you follow me I am know for pinning random topics at ungodly hours of the night.  I think other than outfit inspirations my favorite pins are beauty things.  Here are ten tips I’ve been using.

Kylie Jenner has created a frenzy for fuller lips. Many woman are even going so far as to inject their lips as she did.  But before doing to the needles simply use a light frosted eyeshadow or concealer and lighter lipstick can give your lips a similar affect. I also love to add just a little bit of highlighter across my cupid’s bow to give them a little glow.

Coconut Oil. Really enough said, this stuff is amazing, my go to for so many things.  You can use it to moisturize your hair, cook, but my favorite way to use this stuff is to make my eyelashes grow. Yep you heard me right, I can grow my eye lashes with this stuff.  Take a spool from an old mascara and dip it in some coconut oil each night after you clean off your make up (you can even use the oil as a great way to remove your make up! Win!) I leave it on over night and have found that my eyelashes have gotten so much longer and softer in just a month.

My next tips is using coffee grounds to exfoliate your skin.  I LOVE a good bath, you all know I’m just as addicted to Bath Bombs like any girl. I think a good bath isn’t complete without some exfoliating.  Simply mix sugar, again coconut oil, and used coffee grounds together for amazingly soft skin.

Cleaning my make up brushes each week is probably my least favorite thing, finding something that really works to clean them can be tricky and all those make up brush cleaners cam come with a pretty big price tag.  So to save you a little money I love using baby shampoo to clean make up brushes.  It keeps them soft, is easy on the hairs and goes such a long way.

One thing everyone asks me just about every day is how I get so much volume to my hair. My secret is I rarely was it.  I go about 5 days without washing my hair and it never gets greasy and is always shiny. For those days between the showers I love using dry shampoo to put volume back in the roots

Another great way to give your hair a little more volume is drying my hair upside down.  Instead of shooting the hair down and flattening it to your hair simply flip your head over and dry from the bottom. I   When it’s complete dry you can style it as normal.dry shampoo

If you have jumped on the contour train like I have but don’t feel like you’re getting it quite right.  I recently found a trick of simply creating a 3 from your temple, to the middle of your cheek, and then on your jaw bone to create the perfect contour.  Also if you don’t want to buy an expensive contour pallet swap it out for a matte bronzer.

Now that you’ve got the perfect contour your next step if finishing the look with a glowing highlight. For a highlight you need to find where the light hits your face and that can sometime be a little bit of a challenge.  So when you’re doing your highlight stand in front of a strong light source.  Turn your face toward the light and notice where the light hits your face.

Just like a bath I think you should pamper yourself at least once a week with a face mask, but who says you need to just use one?  Use a moisturizing mask on your dry areas, clay masks on oily areas, exfoliate dull areas, and purifying masks on your spots. It’s like a mini spa treatment in your bathroom!

Finally, my lips are always very dry, and I’m a girl who loves to wear lipstick (can you see my dilemma?). In order to prep my lips for the lipstick I love to use a sugar scrub as well as brush my lips with an old toothbrush. Apply some chapstick and then my lips are ready for my color. sugar scrub and toothbrush to exfoliate lips.

Do it! I love the cream stick highlighters so much better than the powder. But I have also been loving the Becca highlighter recently for a lighter highlight
