The temperature is rising and we’re beginning to see more sun! This is my favorite time of year when I can wear a little bit more color and of course all the dresses! So these are the trends I am seeing for this season that I can’t wait to wear!
After fashion month we saw some very prominent trends at the forefront for this season. The slip dress being one. I feel like this style made its most recent appearance a couple years ago and has still been sticking around for the warmer months. They are a beautiful dressy yet casual look you can wear on a date or during the day running errands.
Next would have to be the continued reign of the 70s style. Wide leg trouser has been a staple in my wardrobe for years. I acquired my favorite pair of pants from a Salvation Army out in California and have loved them since. These bell bottom pants are so classic and flatter any figure. I think the “boho” ’70s inspired trends are here to stay.
Another ’70s trends I am so excited about is off the shoulder. I love how feminine yet sexy this trend is, giving just a bit of skin in a very classy way. From dresses to flowing tops I think this will be such a beautiful trend for those sunny summer days.
Finally I think the romper has been such a fantastic 70s style that has really hit it’s stride this season. I wore one when I visited Philadelphia for my friends birthday. The shorts are so cute and I’m loving the long and flowing sleeve that really gives that boho ’70s vibe. This is such a comfortable and can be dressed up or dressed down for any occasion.
This season has also seen more of the Culottes pant trend. These flowy pants usually hit mid shin and again are so versatile, they come in so many styles, from very stiff wide leg, flowy dressy, to even a jersey almost sweatpants style. You can dress them up with a mock turtle neck and strappy heels like I did, or with the jersey culottes dress them down with a pair of sneakers and a t-shirt.
There is something so feminine about ruffles. Nothing can really compare to a beautiful top with a little feminine touch of ruffles. I am also in love with the very high neck. As you probably knew from my winter wardrobe, I am in love with turtlenecks. So it comes to no surprise that even this season high necks are something I would be into. With a light fabric this trend can be transformed into a beautiful light look.
