My Skin Care Routine

I have struggled to find the perfect routine for my skin for years now.  I’ve never had terrible acne but the occasional break out has been an issue for me for so many years.  But actually with the start of this blog I’ve become very interested in trying out new skin care products to find the perfect regime for me skin.  I think it’s safe to say I’ve officially found a fantastic routine and group of products that have given my skin a much needed lift.

For my evening routine I like to keep it really simple.  I’m not one that spends hours taking off my makeup cause when I’m tired, I’m really tired.  So I like to use something that works really well.  My holy grail makeup remover has to be coconut oil.  Ever since realizing it can do so many things (check out my other options for Coconut oil).  This stuff really has a way of just melting the mascara off my lashes, something I have always had problems getting completely off.

From there I wash my face with a pore minimizing cleanser I have been loving the Biore Baking Soda powder scrub and Body Shop Tea Tree cleanser.  The light foam of the tea tree feels amazing and really cleans out my pores with the heat of a shower. I also love the Biore for how it foams up so easily but is course enough to scrub away dirt.

After washing my face I apply the First Aid Beauty Night Cream and a Neutrogena Under Eye to keep my skin moisturized and firm all night these two are so hydrating but don’t make my skin feel oily or clog my pores over night.skincare6

In the morning I will either wash again with the Biore Baking Soda Scrub or use a micellar water (depending on my level of lazy in the morning), my favorite is the Simple Micellar Water. After that I will apply the Origins Zing Moisturizer.  As I mentioned in my Autumn Beauty Favorites this is the most amazing moisturizer I have ever tried.  I love the scent, it’s such a refreshing orange scent that is definitely a fantastic pick me up in the morning.  It really moisturizes my skin and makes it feel hydrated.  I also love how I feel like it keeps my foundation in place all day.

Along with my daily routine I love a good face mask.  I will typically put one one at least once or twice a week.  On those lazy nights when I’m in for the night early I will put on a mask and pop on a good movie or my favorite show.  The masks I have been loving right now are the Lush’s Mask of Magnaminty, Origin’s Clear Improvement Charcoal mask, and the Formula 10.0.6 Pores be Pure Clarifying Mud Mask I love all of these because I think they really deep clean my pores and make my skin feel extra clean.  On days I don’t use my masks I like to deep clean my skin with my  cleansing brush.  It just really helps remove all dirt and dry skin and make my skin feel really soft.

Finally, for those days where I have a bad break out or can feel a blemish coming on I have been loving the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.  This stuff is worth the hype.  The bottle is definitely miss leading but this stuff also lasts a very long time.  When I see the start of a blemish I simply take a Q-tip and dip it into the sediment at the bottom of the bottle and dab a little bit of the product on the spot and sleep with it on my face.  In the morning I see a significant difference in the size of the spot.
