Top Spring Shoe Trends to Shop Now

I don’t know if I’m alone but I think finding shoes is the hardest piece of clothing to shop for. I love dresses, shirts, pants, I love looking at trends and following the evolving shifts of what’s in style, but I never feel the same way about shoes.

I will go years wearing the same shoes hoping they last me just one more season. I will spend months if not years scouring every inch of the internet creating lists of shoes I want to find replacements for but can never find that perfect pair to replace my go-to shoes.

But now it’s 2022 and I think either I’ve turned a new leaf and gotten desperate for new shoes or the fashion trends are in my favor but I’ve finally found spring and summer shoes I really can’t live without. So these are the trends I will be strutting the streets of Chicago in this season.

Knee boots

It may just be the accounts I follow but I’ve seen 1960 mini dresses and Mod styling coming back into the fold for the spring so a cute knee boot is the perfect shoe to wear with your ultra mini skirt or vintage dress. I know that’s something I will be trying out this season.

Two-tone slingbacks

If you follow me on Instagram or even TikTok you know my Jonak slingback heels are my absolute favorite shoes I own. They have a fantastic chunky heel which is so easy to walk in. The cream shoe with the black toe cap is such a classic style and can be worn with literally anything. I know these shoes not only will last forever in my closet because of the quality but will never go out of style.

I think I talked about these last year but I don’t see them going out of style. Espadrilles are such a fun summer shoe the ones in my closet are a wedge heel which again is fantastic for long summer walks. Pairing these with all my summer dresses forever.

The chunk closed-toe platforms are the perfect winter to spring or summer to fall transition shoe for 2022. I saw this baby doll big platform shoe all over the runways and the Versace Medusa platforms are blowing up all over Instagram. This shoe is such a statement but still has a fun feminity which is very on-trend this year. But I don’t think the platforms need to be confined to the transitional parts of the season I think a big chunky sandal with a mini skirt or wide-leg pant is going to be really in this season.

High top sneakers

I don’t know if it’s old age or all the walking around the city I do but I love a good sneaker. A lot of my outfits are built around low heels or a flat shoe and there’s something so effortless and forever chic about a pair of high-top Converse. You can wear this shoe with a cute summer dress or skirt, max dresses, trousers, jeans, shorts. Really just about anything, so these will be essential in my closet this summer.

Open Toe Mules

Last but certainly not least a beautiful pair of open-toed mules I am on the hunt for but I think are such a chic and sexy shoe for the spring and summer. These shoes elongate the leg and can be worn with so much as well. I love this shoe with a little mini dress for a night out, or you could even pair them with a powerful suit for just a classic shoe.

Spring is a hard season to buy for but personally, I think the shoe trends this year are incredible and worth jumping on because they will be around for a while. Which is your favorite?
