Why it’s ok to fail

All my life I have been somewhat of a perfectionist, I’ve always wanted to please others and never wanted to fail.  As I have been getting older I have realized that failure is inevitable, and you gain so much learning from these situations.

Opportunities to grow stronger.

A very wise woman once said “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller…” Failing gives you the opportunity to stand back up and go back after the things you want.  Don’t let these times knock you down and keep you there. If your goal is something you truly want don’t give up, keep after your dreams until you achieve them.

Harder. Better. Faster. Stronger.

Not only do situations of failure bring you strength, it also gives you the courage, confidence and the wisdom to move forward maybe in a different way.  There is never just one way to achieve your dreams, failure teaches you the ways that aren’t right.  If you never try you will never know if that’s the right choice for you.  Putting the results of your situation into perspective and really thinking of the worst outcome as nothing really helps get the courage. So often the worst outcome is you’re back where you started and you have to try again. It never hurts to try something new.  No situation is that bad that you will regret it your entire life.

It’s the Climb

Finally, failure makes the end result that much sweeter.  The more you fail the more you’ll learn and the more determination you’ll get, the more gratifying it will be when you finally achieve your goal. “Don’t let the fear for striking out keep you from playing the game.” (OK I’m done with the pop culture references I promise….)

How do you continue to pursue your dreams?

Love the outfit, I’m really into culottes right now. Also it’s a great post, glad to welcome you to what I like to call the Enlightened Perfectionist Club, I used to let myself get so negative in failure.

Hey! Thank you so much! It’s a slow process but I’m starting to come to terms with who I am and my limitations. I am obsessed with these culottes! The look is so classic and surprisingly vertically challenged friendly. 🙂
